The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is efficient beyond just getting 82 MPGe with regenerative braking and the ability to fully charge in as little as two hours with an available volt charger. With 81 different seating configurations and more cargo space than a full-size SUV , the most family friendly seven-passenger plug-in hybrid lets you remove the second-row seats and stow the third-row into the floor for even more room.
Adjust your charging schedule to run during less expensive off-peak hours plus view your power flow, driving history and more.

It's supremely affordable, and it has pleasant driving dynamics. But compared to other minivans, it has a narrower range of standard and available features. The Chrysler Voyager is a 7-seater vehicle that comes in 2 trim levels. Typically, carmakers are happy to have just one minivan on their roster, but Chrysler is that odd bird with two: the Voyager and the Pacifica. The Voyager has a strong engine and agreeable handling, but its most appealing aspect is its low price.
Costing less than the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna , it's the least expensive minivan on the market. Unfortunately, the Voyager's accessible pricing requires some sacrifices. It offers fewer amenities than its competitors.
For example, power-sliding side doors aren't available, and leather upholstery isn't on the options list. Still, if you want a budget-friendly minivan, you'll likely appreciate what the Voyager has to offer. See owner reviews for Chrysler Voyager. The well-rounded Honda Odyssey excels when it comes to passenger and cargo space, standard safety features, and a smooth ride.
Its biggest drawback is the lack of newer features such as a hybrid model and all-wheel drive. The Honda Odyssey is a 8-seater vehicle that comes in 5 trim levels. See owner reviews for Honda Odyssey.
The idea of a hybrid minivan isn't new, as Chrysler already has its plug-in Pacifica Hybrid. But Toyota damn near leapfrogged the entire industry with the announcement that every Sienna will pack hybrid power.
The Carnival, meanwhile, continues to use a naturally aspirated V6, though it gets a new, 3. Then there's the matter of all-wheel drive, something you can't get in the Carnival or Odyssey. Toyota uses an electronic all-wheel-drive system that merely adds an electric motor to the rear axle, instead of slapping a bunch of complex, heavy mechanicals down there. The refreshed Pacifica gets all-wheel drive, too, but it's a mechanical system that requires slightly more ride height.
The Carnival's staid V6 results in pretty lackluster fuel economy numbers, as you can see in the chart below. By comparison, the Honda Odyssey's single powertrain configuration is EPA-estimated at 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway and 22 combined -- as a matter of fact, that's also what the EPA rates the Chrysler Pacifica's V6 fuel economy.
The Pacifica Hybrid is slightly less thirsty, with the EPA estimating 30 mpg combined on the gas engine alone. The Sienna's traditional hybrid powertrain, as you can see, results in some impressive numbers. Still, Kia notes the Carnival has best-in-class cargo and passenger volume. The Sienna's wheel-to-wheel length slots between the Pacifica and Odyssey, and its interior capacities are pretty competitive as a result. The sound system was another plus for my kids. In this case, it was a speaker Harmon Kardon system that really rocked.
On road, the Pacifica is a well-behaved and comfortable van to pilot. With the electric drive, it really makes easy work of stop-and-go traffic and inner-city commutes with lots of stop signs. Parking is also a breeze with multiple cameras and radar, not to mention the optional parking assist that will literally parallel park for you. There are some other cool features like a hands-free tailgate and sliding door operation by waving your foot below the doors. For a family of up to seven people, this is a real winner in the convenience and comfort departments.
