Should i upgrade nikon d40

I love the tilting screen. I used the D50 for several years, then D90 and now D Same lens for all. My suggestion would be the D or us from that but stay with the D series.

I still use the D and Keep the D50 for back up. My wife uses the D90 and we swap lens back and forth in the field. Nikon eliminated the ultrasonic sensor cleaner in the D Its pop-up flash has only one-half the power of the flash in the D If you get the D be sure to get a good filtered blower. It has a large hepa filter, an anti-static filter, and one-way check valve. Adorama camera has it. You can also order it directly from Koh.

I shoot with a with an Sigma on it most of the time, and love it! Can anyone advise what other NIKON cameras with signigicantly more Megapixels are available that will accomodate my current lenses and attachments? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Your lenses work with any of the current DX bodies. The 35 works as well on the new sensors as always. The D or D add more controls, some weather sealing, better AF, a better finder and faster burst shooting.

The D is a pro body, made for fast paced shooting without having to look at menus during the shoot. You will need to handle them in a store to find out which segment will suit you better. You basically pay more for the latest tech in each segment and for better ergonomics between the segments. If you want a modern equivalent to what you have, the D3xxx is it but you might like the improvements the D5xxx or D7xxx provide.

I'm only a hobby photographer who now spends most of my time photographing my family. Thanks, Bob. I upgraded my D40 for a D Last year I upgraded the D80 for a D, after the D80 went swimming :- Moving up to a semi pro body will be the biggest step.

Having two control wheels makes a big difference, as does auto bracketing. The biggest improvement I found was the CLS flash system for indoor work. Controlling two remote flash heads, making brightness adjustments from the back of the camera, makes things so much easier. You will notice an improvement in the sensors these day. The lowlight capability is much improved.

Continuous shutter and focus speeds are a lot better than the D More metering points may be of help to you, but I tend to manually meter these days! TBonz , Tony and Steve M like this.
