After your grade is submitted, you can order an official transcript to be sent to your school from the University of Rochester. Online Prerequisite Courses are entirely online. Each course is comprised of 10 to 15 modules.
Modules might include video lectures, PowerPoint presentations, readings, or other activities. Once you feel you have mastered the material, you will take a graded quiz at the end of the module and move on to the next one. There are no written papers, midterms or finals. Each course is assigned a School of Nursing professor who is available for questions or if you need additional help. Online Prerequisite Courses are asynchronous, which means you can work on your own time and at your own pace.
The lab kit includes all necessary resources, including lab materials, instructional videos, practice questions, a virtual lab manual and worksheets, presentations, and recommended websites.
In addition, your course faculty will provide instructional support and eScience Labs will provide technical support for the virtual program. This undergraduate-level introductory course is the first of a two-course-series on human anatomy and physiology. Using a body systems approach, we will study the anatomical structure and physiological function of the human body.
Foundational concepts from chemistry, cell biology, and histology are reviewed and built upon through the progression of topics. Each of the body systems will be studied for their structure, function, and mechanisms of regulation. The core concepts of levels of organization, interdependence of systems, and homeostasis will be emphasized throughout the course. This beginner level course will lay the foundation for further advanced study of physiology and pathophysiology within a nursing curriculum.
